Chocolate makes you happy! It’s a fact. When eating chocolate it enhances the production of endorphins in our bodies and those are hormones which help to manage stress. So, it is basically scientifically proven. And I can totally agree that chocolate is delicious, amazing and HEALTHY!
This avocado brownies recipe is super easy to make and really healthy. It only contains all the good ingredients, benefiting our body and is super fugdgy and good. I am using avocados for the cake batter to get it smooth and fudgy, substituting butter or unhealthy fats und the chocolate frosting is mainly made out of coconut milk or cream, which is literally the best combined with raw cacao powder and sweetener. Gluten free, sugar free, dairy free!
Conventional wheat flour contains a lot of gluten and with the rising gluten intolerance nowadays, but also the little nutrients that wheat flour contains it is better and healthier to substitute it. This gluten free avocado brownies recipe, which is flourless when talking about conventional wheat flour, is variable and the choice of flour is up to you!
There are plenty of different flours nowadays such as almond meal, coconut flour, oat flour or whole wheat flour. As most of them are neutral in taste it is easy to use them by preference. When making avocado brownies gluten free it is important to keep in mind that different flours will impact the consistency of the cake batter differently. Some require more addition of liquid than others, then other flours do not bind the cake batter as much.
For this recipe I used whole wheat flour. When using oat flour or coconut flour, you definitely have to add a bit more liquid to it. Almond meal is probably the same as whole wheat flour, but when using chickpea flour, definitely more can be added of it.

Fudgy Avocado Chocolate Brownies Recipe
If you are a chocolate lover like me, this healthy and easy avocado brownie recipe is perfect for you. The avocados make it really fudgy and the raw cacao powder I am using brings all the chocolatiness to these healthy avocado brownies. However, it is not one to one comparable to conventional brownies, because the sweetness of refined sugar is not replaceable with natural healthy ingredients, this is definitely something to be aware of! Some friends and people I know which never tastes healthy versions of cakes, brownies, cookies or desserts are automatically comparing it with ‘normal’ recipes.

This is a mistake, as the conventional refined sugar is extremely sweet and in nature strong sweeteners are rare. Nonetheless, this is definitely a good healthy alternative for chocolate lovers! As sugar substitute I use bananas, soft dates and agave syrup, but you can also use another healthy syrup or sweetener.
Protein and low carb
These avocado chocolate brownies are all healthy, low carb and rich in proteins. It contains the goodness of so many ingredients which are all benefiting your body! The bananas, dates and syrup are the sweeteners of this recipe, and especially the bananas contribute to the fudginess of those avocado brownies. Eggs, nuts and the flour, especially when using almond meal, make this recipe high in proteins. The raw cacao powder and the cinnamon bring all the taste and deliciousness. It does not stop here.

Once this is all baked and cooled down, the BEST healthy chocolate frosting is spread over the avocado brownies. Only three ingredients needed: coconut milk or cream, a firm consistency is key here, cacao powder and sweetener. They are all simply whipped together and it becomes the best chocolate frosting. Meanwhile the avocado brownies are baking and cooling down, the frosting is made and cooled until spreading it on the cake.
