This way we can just use hot water or put the oatmeal in the microwave. Ingredients

Coconut Chocolate Porridge

  • 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp (40g) instant or quick oats
  • 1 tsp each chia seeds, ground flax seeds, wheat bran, (optional)
  • 1 tbsp (10g) raw dark cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch cinnamon, (optional)
  • 2 tbsp (20g) desiccated coconut
  • 1 tbsp syrup (vegan) or honey
  • 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp (100ml) hot water
  • 2 tbsp coconut milk, (firm consistency)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tbsp coconut chips, (optional)

Method

Coconut Chocolate Porridge

    1. Add the oats or oatmeal (chia seeds, ground flax seeds, wheat bran if available), raw dark cacao powder, cinnamon, shredded coconut and syrup or honey in a bowl, pour hot water over it and stir until well combined. Let it sit for 1 minute, add the coconut milk and stir again.
    2. Cut off a quarter of the ripe banana and slice it for the topping. Cut in half the remaining ¾ of the banana and then cut into slices, add them into the porridge.
    3. For the topping decorate with the remaining banana slices and coconut chips (optional)
