It is gluten free, dairy free, sugar free and so easy to make snickers vegan and full of proteins!

When I created this recipe, I was looking for a very easy recipe how to make healthy snickers bar with dates. The only equipment needed is a good food processor, as we are making caramel out of dates. Importantly to use pitted soft dates, sometimes there are dried dates in supermarkets, if you’re using those, please make them soft by letting them sit in hot water for about 30 minutes. After that, rinse the dates and they can be used as soft dates. In order to make raw vegan snickers bar there’s no oven or heat required, solely the ingredients, a food processor and a mold to form those bars, are needed.

Vegan Snickers Bars Recipe

Is snickers vegan? This recipe for sure! It is dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, raw, no-bake, delicious and healthy! And why is snickers healthy? Because they not only taste incredibly good, but also contain a lot of vitamins, healthy unsaturated fats and proteins. Additionally, nothing is heated up, hence no vitamins are lost, so we can even call them raw snack bars! For this vegan healthy snickers dates recipe, it is important to buy the right ingredients:

  • Dates: buy soft dates, ideally pitted. If you cannot find any, the dried dates also work after having them soaked in hot water for 30 minutes
  • Peanut butter: use 100% peanut butter to avoid refined sugar and unhealthy fats
  • Chocolate: it’s sometimes hard to find sugar-free or 100% cocoa chocolate, depending on where you live. Either buy it online or use the highest percentage of cocoa, like 90% or something alike.

How to make Healthy Snickers bar vegan and gluten-free

For this healthy snickers recipe we first blend the oats, desiccated coconut with milk and peanut butter in the food processor until smooth. To sweeten it I used a pinch of stevia, but due to the peanut butter and coconut it already has a nice rich flavor. This is our base, which is put in a mold, lined with parchment paper to take it out afterwards easily.

Best to cool the base before continuing vegan snickers bars recipe. Then we add the dates with water and peanut butter into the food processor and let it grind for a couple of minutes until it becomes nice and smooth caramel! Mix in the peanuts, I used toasted and salted peanuts, that’s literally the best as it adds a light saltiness. Spread on the oat base and cool for a couple of hours.

Healthy Snickers Recipe

We move on to the best part: chocolate. Chop the chocolate and melt carefully with coconut oil. The coconut oil makes the chocolate softer and helps to easily cut and bite the chocolate later on. Spread it on the date caramel and now freeze it for one hour. Now comes another important part, hot to cut it. Place a big knife into a tall bowl filled with hot water, let the knife become hot. Dry it with a kitchen towel and now carefully place the knife on the healthy snickers, the chocolate should melt and then you can have a clean cut.

Can it get any better? Yes! The entire making of these healthy vegan snickers bars recipe probably takes only 15 minutes, excluding the waiting time.  The best part about this healthy snickers recipe, they are low fat, low calorie and surely ideal for weight loss! As I just explained how these are made, it is a snack bar recipe without oven, which makes it a super easy recipe for clean eating.
